A low-noise block downconverter known as (LNB) is a device fixed or mounted at the front of satellite dishes for TV channels reception, held by a feedhorn which collects the electromagnetic wave or radio wave from the dish and down convert them to electrical signals.

LNB PRIMARY FUNCTION

The basic function of an LNB is to receive, amplify and down convert the required proportion of the electromagnetic or micro waves frequencies from 950MHz to 1.45GHz L-band frequency signals, which can now pass through the RG-6 Coaxial cable to the indoor decoder for digital TV channel broadcast.

We have different types of LNB. According to the above image;

first one on top is called -Single Way LNB

second one is called – Two-Way LNB

Third is called – Four Way LNB and the little rubber known as the water sealant.
